Edu looks set to get the sack by Nottingham Forest, but he might not be out of work for too long.
The Global Head of Football is being dismissed by Evangelos Marinakis for some poor work in the transfer market, with Edu spending less than a year at the City Ground.

The signings of Douglas Luiz and Oleksandr Zinchenko didn’t work out, and both players moved on in January, whilst Omari Hutchinson is still striving to prove himself as a regular in the team.
It doesn’t appear as though Edu will be out of work long, however, with news of his next club already starting to come to light.

Edu could join Flamengo
According to reports, Flamengo have been alerted to the fact that Edu is set to depart Forest and could soon be out of work.
Edu is set to leave Forest this week, and that will leave a vacancy at the City Ground for someone to step into.
The Brazilian has also been overseeing operations with the other clubs in Marinakis’ portfolio, and it looks as though that work will cease too.
Flamengo are seeking a new appointment behind the scenes and perhaps there will be less pressure and scrutiny on Edu to perform that particular job relatively well.
It remains to be seen who Forest will get in to replace him at the City Ground and whoever it is will have a big job to try and rescue the club on the back of a number of bad decisions.
Marinakis has to carry the can for Edu appointment
Taking the side of Edu over Nuno Espirito Santo could eventually cost Forest their Premier League status and it’s good that Marinakis has got rid of Edu.
This was just the wrong fit for Forest, and he’s not exactly had a wave of positive signings who have done well this season to fall back on.
Heading back to Brazil could be a good move for Edu, however. He has still done some positive stuff with Arsenal in the past, and with the right club, he could still be successful.
After this debacle and all the carnage it’s caused, it’s now imperative that Marinakis gets the next appointment right.
