Nottingham Forest had a wealth of top performers in Friday’s 5-0 win over Sunderland as the Reds continued their fine form.
Goals from Chris Wood, Morgan Gibbs-White, Igor Jesus, Elliot Anderson and a Trai Hume own goal ensured all three points for the Reds who are now unbeaten in eight matches in all competitions.

With the dust now settling on Friday’s game and Forest looking forward to Thursday’s Europa League semi-final with Aston Villa, pundits are picking their top performers from the weekend’s games.

Troy Deeney hails Nottingham Forest star Igor Jesus
Forest did only manage to get one player in Deeney’s Team of the Week which perhaps seems a bit harsh considering a 5-0 victory away from home.
However, given some of the strange decisions he’s made this year when it comes to picking his Team of the Week, Forest fans should perhaps be grateful.
He was very impressed with Jesus for his showing at the Stadium of Light and believed he pretty much had a hand in every goal which Forest scored.
He said on the BBC website: “Excellent, again, best player on the pitch. He only gets credited with one goal and one assist, but he had a hand in all five of the goals at Sunderland.
“Another big performance from him. He seems to be thriving now under the new management and played with Chris Wood as well, who gives him the license to go get on the ball and do what he needs to do.”
Jesus has enjoyed a pretty good maiden season in England scoring 15 goals in all competitions and he will have learned an awful lot.
Perhaps Jesus’ Premier League record could have been better in front of goal but given that he’s been thrown in at the deep end this season, it’s fair to say that he’s done pretty well.
It’s great that Deeney picked out Jesus because he was superb against Sunderland and the Brazilian is another player who will hope to finish the season with a flourish from here.
