Nottingham Forest beat Chelsea to move six points clear of the relegation zone and edge closer to another season in the Premier League.

Taiwo Awoniyi was the man of the hour as he scored after 98 seconds and then added another in the second half after Igor Jesus had made it 2-0 from the penalty spot.

😍GET IN THERE!!! Sum up our huge win over Chelsea in three words…

Matz Sels saved a penalty in first-half stoppage time, and Joao Pedro’s late stoppage time goal proved to be nothing more than a consolation.

The Reds produced a superb team performance, and after the game, Jamie Carragher waxed lyrical about two players who he loves to watch.

Nottingham Forest duo impress Jamie Carragher

Forest put Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson on at half-time, and the duo combined to tee up Awoniyi to score his second goal and make it 3-0 to Forest.

It’s another goal contribution for Gibbs-White, who produced this showing in front of the England boss Thomas Tuchel, who was at Stamford Bridge.

Carragher has admitted after the game that he enjoys watching both Gibbs-White and Anderson when they’re strutting their stuff at Forest.

Carragher said on Sky Sports: “Morgan Gibbs-White, Elliot Anderson, I love the two of them, they’re two superstars, they really are. They’ve teamed up well and I really rate them.”

Tuchel needs to pair Anderson and Gibbs-White together for England

It proved a bad afternoon for Cole Palmer, who missed a penalty in front of the England boss and then watched on as Gibbs-White put the seal on a Forest win by setting up Awoniyi.

Tuchel simply has to utilise Anderson and Gibbs-White together for England, and ultimately, he’s running out of excuses to keep ignoring the Forest number 10.

Who was your Man of the Match vs Chelsea?

There are a fair few to choose from!

Hopefully, common sense can prevail, and Gibbs-White gets a chance for England before the World Cup, which takes place in the summer.

Gibbs-White came on determined to prove a point and whenever he plays at the moment, he’s got an eye for goal and a creative spark currently unrivalled in the Premier League.
