Nottingham Forest are hoping for positive news on Morgan Gibbs-White after he was forced off against Chelsea on Monday afternoon.
Gibbs-White was withdrawn with a nasty cut on his forehead following a collision with Chelsea custodian Robert Sanchez.
The Forest number 10 had earlier teed up Taiwo Awoniyi for his second goal of the afternoon with a sublime piece of vision, and the Reds are now sweating ahead of Thursday’s second leg with Aston Villa.

Max Scott delivers Morgan Gibbs-White update
With the second leg of the Europa League semi-final against Aston Villa on the horizon, Forest will have everything crossed for Gibbs-White.
It transpires that Gibbs-White wasn’t withdrawn as a concussion replacement, which is positive, as that would rule him out for seven days as a minimum.
Now, Max Scott has shared what he’s been told about Gibbs-White ahead of Thursday’s huge game and there could be hope that he can make the starting eleven.
He posted on social media: “I’m told that Morgan Gibbs-White’s showing no signs of concussion since being substituted. Just a deep and nasty cut. He’ll continue to be monitored appropriately. There’s still a hope that, subject to stitching and painkillers, he could still feature on Thursday.”
Chelsea win proves Forest can cope without Morgan Gibbs-White
Not that Forest would even want to contemplate losing Gibbs-White for this huge second leg, especially given the form that he’s in, but if his head doesn’t get better, it could become a reality.
Yesterday, Pereira made eight changes to his team, and several attacking players stepped up to showcase to the manager that they’re keen to play more matches before the season ends.
Who was your Man of the Match vs Chelsea?
There are a fair few to choose from!
Gibbs-White is integral to Forest’s fortunes, but if he’s only fit enough for the bench against Villa on Thursday, Forest will now believe they have players who can come in and replace him.
With the game coming around pretty quickly, Forest will have everything crossed for Gibbs-White, whilst Pereira will likely prepare a contingency plan should the captain miss out.
