Sean Dyche’s tenure at Nottingham Forest is thankfully consigned to the record books, and Morgan Gibbs-White is likely to be extremely happy with that.

Gibbs-White was a regular in the team under Dyche, but the number 10 is the club’s leader for a reason, and there were certain things he wasn’t happy with.

Who was your Man of the Match vs Chelsea?

There are a fair few to choose from!

Evangelos Marinakis sought advice from senior players before sacking Dyche, and it’s likely that Gibbs-White was one of those players.

With Vitor Pereira kicking Forest on in recent weeks, it’s now come to light exactly how he’s won the players around, including the fringe players, which has delighted the senior members of the squad.

How Sean Dyche angered Morgan Gibbs-White

It’s been claimed in an article by the Daily Mail that Dyche angered Gibbs-White after Forest were beaten on penalties by Wrexham in the FA Cup.

Dyche quickly slammed his fringe players who had been given a go in the 3-3 draw, with the head coach calling on some senior stars to force extra-time.

At the time, many of the fringe players had played very little football, and Dyche inexplicably played a number of them out of position – most notably James McAtee, who was deployed as a number six and got hooked at half-time.

Gibbs-White was rested that night, and it’s been claimed that these comments from Dyche left the number 10 furious, taking the side of his under-fire teammates instead.

Clearly, Forest’s talisman backs his teammates all the way, and it’s no surprise, as a result, that Pereira has opted to take a different approach.

You can only pick one: Vitor Pereira or Nuno Espirito Santo!

Evangelos Marinakis has been criticised for sometimes shooting from the hip with the decisions he’s made since taking ownership of Forest in 2017.

However, given how much impact Pereira has had on the club, his decision to part with Dyche after a matter of months looks like a bit of a masterstroke at this stage.
