Arsenal are gunning for the Premier League title, and in the summer, a former Nottingham Forest player might be on his way to the Emirates Stadium.

A win over West Ham United will give Mikel Arteta one hand on the Premier League trophy and will also help Forest’s survival aspirations.

If Morgan Gibbs-White doesn’t make it tonight which of these four Nottingham Forest players should get the nod?

Forest can soon start to look forward to the transfer window, and the aim will be to bring players to the club who can settle quickly and help the Reds enjoy a better campaign.

One of the Reds’ former players could be on his way back to the Premier League this summer, and he might sign for Arsenal, who are monitoring the player closely.

Danilo being eyed by Arsenal

According to Globo, Danilo has been contacted by Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window.

Botafogo are massively up against it financially, and they are willing to cash in on Danilo after his solid start to the new season.

Danilo looks like a certainty to go to the World Cup, with Carlo Ancelotti calling him up for the friendlies back in March.

The former Forest player has scored 10 goals and claimed three assists from 22 matches, operating in a more attacking role than the City Ground fans saw.

Danilo is thought to favour a move to Europe this summer, with Botafogo willing to accept a deal in the region of £37 million for his services.

Should we re-sign Danilo this summer?

The player has been linked with a Premier League return but would we have him back?

Danilo exit is a bad look for the recruitment team

Although the recruitment team have got a lot of things right since returning to the Premier League, there are still some lessons to learn.

Danilo’s exit now looks set to hand Forest another reminder that there is work to do.

Given how much of a struggle this season has been at times has showcased just how wrong Forest were to let Danilo go in the summer.

Last season, he struggled to get back into the team after breaking his ankle, but whenever he was called upon, he always did a job for the club.

At 25, Danilo is not yet at the peak of his powers, and Forest let him leave way before they should have done, with the Brazilian showing in his Botafogo form that he’s got much more to offer.

Forest have to learn lessons from this debacle and if Danilo goes to Arsenal and smashes it, certain people at the City Ground will look very silly.
