Nottingham Forest are drawing up a shortlist of transfer targets ahead of the summer window.

Vitor Pereira is showing an interest in signing Maxime Esteve, who is expected to leave Burnley following their relegation.

Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney is also being linked to the City Ground after winning the Championship Player of the Season.

Paul Merson is a huge fan of Nottingham Forest target Mateus Mane

It has just been reported that Nottingham Forest are keen to pursue a deal to sign Mateus Mane from Wolves.

Mane has enjoyed his breakthrough season, registering five goal involvements in 26 Premier League appearances.

The 18-year-old has impressed in a really poor Wolves side, and Merson previously stated that he could become a ‘superstar’.

“He is something for the fans, they need something to get them up,” Merson explained in February.

“He is enthusiastic, he has scored a couple of goals and he looks like he could be a superstar. He works hard and I like his attitude.

What is your prediction for Saturday’s final game of the season vs Bournemouth?🤔

We've not beaten Bournemouth since 2015!😮

“There is a lot of pressure on him for a young kid. It is like, if Mane plays we’ve got a chance, when really he should be coming in for a couple of games and then coming back out, because there is a lot of pressure on him playing for, and without being unkind, a poor football team.”

The 2007-born has shouldered a lot of responsibility to create and score goals for Wolves, so clearly he has an elite mentality.

Mane has been linked to Liverpool and Manchester United, so it won’t be an easy deal for Forest to get over the line.
