Morgan Gibbs-White will not be going to the World Cup after Thomas Tuchel opted for other options for his England squad.

Despite being at the top of the goalscoring charts for Englishmen in the Premier League this season, he was snubbed along with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Danny Welbeck, who are also with Gibbs-White on that list of scorers.

😡Completely laughable! Give us your reaction to the news…👇

Gibbs-White has 24 goals and assists this season in all competitions, but Tuchel has opted for Noni Madueke, who has three and Ivan Toney, who is playing in Saudi Arabia, among his attacking options.

Naturally, the squad selection has come into question with a lot of people discussing the decision to leave out Gibbs-White and a host of other top names, with a former Forest favourite sticking up for his old teammate.

Harry Toffolo reacts to Morgan Gibbs-White’s England omission

Toffolo left Forest to sign for Charlotte FC last summer, and he served the Reds with distinction, signing from Huddersfield after their Play-Off Final defeat to Forest.

He wasn’t always considered a first-choice option, but he played his part towards the end of last season with his highlight being a brilliant goal-line clearance in a 2-1 win away at Tottenham.

Following the news about Gibbs-White missing out on a place in Tuchel’s World Cup squad, Toffolo posted a short message on social media which said, ‘No Gibbs-White’, followed by an embarrassed emoji and a thumbs down.

Toffolo is saying what everyone else is thinking about Tuchel’s decision to axe Gibbs-White, and it really doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.

Provided the 26-man squad doesn’t pick up any injuries, Gibbs-White will see the curtain come down on his season after the game against Bournemouth.

As Forest fans will we now hope that he comes back well rested and that this weekend’s game isn’t the last we see of Gibbs-White wearing the Garibaldi.
