Nottingham Forest want Shea Charles
According to journalist Sebastien Vidal, Charles is on the shortlist of a number of Premier League clubs, with Forest, Leeds and Crystal Palace all linked.
Charles went on loan to Sheffield Wednesday during the 2024/25 campaign, and his form was so impressive that Southampton gave him a go following their relegation.
The young central midfielder has scored six goals and claimed two assists this season, with memorable goals coming against Arsenal in the FA Cup and in the second leg of their play-off semi-final against Middlesbrough.
Southampton were kicked out of the play-offs with Boro advancing to the final, with the beaten semi-finalists also losing to Hull in the final at Wembley.
Now, Charles could be moved on as Southampton look to cash in on a few players to raise some funds after failing to win promotion to the top-flight.
Charles came through the youth ranks at Manchester City and won praise from Pep Guardiola for his efforts during his time at the club.
What message would YOU send to Vitor Pereira ahead of next season? What’s he done well and what does he need to change?
It’s not clear what the Saints would value Charles at, but it does perhaps show that Forest are going to be scouring the EFL for quality players this summer.
This link emerges after it was claimed Forest are eyeing Hayden Hackney this summer and perhaps more than one central midfielder is in the sights of the club.
