The 2025/26 campaign was nothing short of chaotic from a Nottingham Forest perspective.
Forest became the first team to survive relegation from the Premier League despite having four head coaches across the campaign.
Nuno Espirito Santo departed after a 3-0 defeat to West Ham in the third game of the season, with Ange Postecoglou taking his place in the hot seat.
👀We’ve had some stinkers but if Sean Dyche isn’t our worst ever manager, who is?🤔
The Aussie lasted just 39 days, with Sean Dyche coming in with seven months of the season remaining, before being replaced by Vitor Pereira in February.
To sum up the chaotic nature of the campaign, a story from Dyche’s tenure has come to light, and it’s pretty remarkable to say the least.

Sean Dyche appointed fitness coach who never worked one day
According to The Telegraph, Dyche was concerned with the fitness levels of his players and subsequently called on a fitness coach from his time at Everton.
However, he never actually got to start work at the City Ground.
Dyche’s fitness expert was due to start work at Forest after he’d served his notice with Everton and agreed to begin at the City Ground on February 12th.
However, that date will ring a bell in the mind of Forest fans as it was actually the day that Dyche was dismissed, leading to the fitness coach not even getting started.
A mutual agreement was put in place for the coach to depart very shortly after, and this was another slight on the season that Forest have just had.
Forest will hope that under Vitor Pereira can bring stability to the club next season and help the Reds compete higher up the division, avoiding another season of struggle.
The Dyche debacle was doomed to fail given his archaic methods, and weirdly, the players didn’t seem unfit when they lost just one of the final 10 Premier League matches.
