Tim Sherwood made a bit of a fool of himself when it came to Nottingham Forest last season, and now he’s made a claim about Morgan Gibbs-White.

With five games remaining, Sherwood was asked to predict how many points Forest would get for the remainder of the season.

On a scale of 1-10 how confident are you that Nottingham Forest will keep Morgan Gibbs-White this summer?

How much is the star man worth?🔥

With his Tottenham-tinted glasses on, he confidently predicted just two points for the Reds shortly before Forest went and thrashed Sunderland and then beat Chelsea to claim six from the first two games of that period and comfortably stay up.

Sherwood hailed Gibbs-White after he inspired Forest to a win over Tottenham towards the end of the season, and now he’s fought the player’s corner once again.

Tim Sherwood gutted Morgan Gibbs-White isn’t in England squad

Sherwood has been a guest on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast this week, and the talk turned towards the England squad.

Naturally, Gibbs-White got a mention, and it would appear as though Sherwood would have taken the Forest number 10.

He said: “I would have certainly put in Phil Foden. I would have put in Cole Palmer. They would have been 100% in there.

“Morgan Gibbs White, the way he’s played at the back end of the season. You would think the boy couldn’t do any more to get a call-up.”

It’s a shame that Gibbs-White doesn’t get the chance to continue his fine 2025/26 campaign at the World Cup this summer, but it could benefit Forest.

Gibbs-White will enjoy a well-earned rest and should come back next season determined to prove Thomas Tuchel wrong and pick up exactly where he left off.

It’s disappointing for the player that he’s missed out, but ultimately, it would appear as though his face just doesn’t fit with Tuchel for whatever reason.

It would have been equally frustrating had Gibbs-White gone to the World Cup, hardly played and then needed more recovery time to get ready for the Premier League campaign.

This way, Gibbs-White should be raring to go come August and be ready to lead Forest once again in the Premier League.
