Elliot Anderson was in action for England last night, but thousands of miles away, Nottingham Forest were receiving a bid from Manchester City.
City tried to agree a deal for Anderson last week, only for Evangelos Marinakis to knock back the efforts from the club, which were denied the Premier League title last season.
Brandt, Vlahovic and Bissouma are all free agents… who should Nottingham Forest sign? ✍️
Anderson did well for England as he played for around an hour before being substituted in a 3-0 win over Costa Rica.
Back home, all the focus is now on exactly how much Forest will accept if they’re to sell Anderson this summer.

Manchester City make fresh Elliot Anderson bid
Last night, David Ornstein from The Athletic claimed that Anderson was the subject of a new bid from Manchester City.
The Citizens have verbally offered £106 million with a series of add-ons included that will eventually see the deal reach a fee of £120 million.
However, Marinakis is not impressed with the offer in the slightest. He’s keen for Forest to be paid a guaranteed £120 million to make Anderson the British transfer record.
It’s a great position for Marinakis to be in, with Forest now clinging on to the hope that City will come back with another bid for a player who still has three years to run on his existing deal.
John Percy drops Anderson spoiler after fresh update
Most fans appreciate that John Percy has an inside at the club, and he weighed in after this latest piece of information from Ornstein.
He posted on X: “At this point, Nottingham Forest have no agreement with Manchester City for Elliot Anderson. Offer of circa £105m plus big add-ons regarded as unacceptable by Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis. Talks ongoing (but I think a deal will eventually happen).
How much should we do business for when it comes to Elliot Anderson?
Will we get the £115m that Brighton managed to squeeze out of Chelsea for Moises Caicedo?
It won’t come as a surprise to many Forest fans that Percy believes a deal will eventually be done, with most resigned to the fact that the midfielder will leave this summer.
It’s nice, however, that Forest are showcasing that they won’t be bullied as a club to lower their demands for one of their star players.
