Nottingham Forest are going to offload some players this summer as they look to make changes to the squad.

Elliot Anderson is wanted by Manchester City, and the hope is that other star players remain on Trentside.

With Atalanta preparing a move for Nicolo Savona, how would you rate his time at Nottingham Forest?

The fringe players could be juggled around, though, and a few deemed surplus at Forest could be sold to make space for the new signings in the coming months.

Last summer, the recruitment did leave a lot to be desired, and now, interest is cranking up in one player who failed to get a chance under Vitor Pereira.

Roma join race for Nicola Savona

According to Tutto Mercato Web, Forest have been informed by Roma that Savona is a player that they’d like to sign this summer.

Savona signed for Forest from Juventus in a deal worth £11 million, but he missed the second half of the season with a knee problem.

As a result, he was unable to get a single minute of action under Pereira’s management, and perhaps a different type of full-back will be targeted.

Savona made 20 appearances for Forest, scoring important goals against Liverpool at Anfield and at home against Manchester United.

Forest will likely want their money back for Savona this summer, and Roma will need to battle Atalanta for his signature.

Forest need Savona replacement

The Reds will need to get a replacement sorted pretty quickly if they allow another full-back to leave the club.

The full-back spots were problematic throughout last season, and it’s imperative that two players are available for each position during 2026/27.

Fill in the gap: Lloyd Kelly would be a __/10 signing for Nottingham Forest

Savona, perhaps, isn’t overly suited to what Pereira wants his full-backs to do, and it would be ideal if the Reds could get their money back to cash in on him.

However, it would be alarming for a host of players to start leaving before ones are added to the ranks, and Forest have to have contingency plans for a Savona departure.
