Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis could be about to risk the wrath of the club’s supporters.
Marinakis clearly has the club’s interests at heart, and nobody can knock him for what he’s done.
Since taking over the football club in 2017, he’s taken the Reds on a journey that could only be considered a dream almost 10 years ago, winning promotion, stabilising as a Premier League club and qualifying for Europe.
Would you take Khephren Thuram at Nottingham Forest next season? 🔥
However, Marinakis has made some mistakes.
Some transfer deals between Forest and Olympiacos have become commonplace over the years, and given that they very rarely benefit the Reds, they’ve been largely unpopular.
Now, he could be about to complete another one…

Nottingham Forest could be involved in Leo Pereira deal
According to reports from Greece, Forest look set to sign Brazilian defender Leo Pereira this summer.
The Flamengo centre-back is going to cost £15 million, but if the transfer goes through, it looks as though he’s going straight to Olympiacos and will likely never make a single appearance for the Reds.
West Ham also want to sign the player, but the chance to go to Olympiacos and play in Europe should prove to be a bigger pull than the Championship.
Pereira is 30 and has never played in Europe, making the chances of him ever featuring for Forest extremely slim.
Would you consider cashing in on Matz Sels this summer?
How would you rate his time at Forest? 👍or👎
It’s yet another deal that Marinakis is going to complete without it ever actually benefiting Forest and instead helping Olympiacos.
Nobody can deny that the Forest owner has bent over backwards to help Forest sign players in the past, but this deal for Pereira is likely to be another one that annoys the fan base considerably.
