With Elliot Anderson set to leave Nottingham Forest this summer, keeping Morgan Gibbs-White is vital for Evangelos Marinakis.
It wouldn’t be a summer transfer window without some interest in the Forest number 10.
Rewind 12 months, and it felt like Gibbs-White was gone, with Tottenham seemingly activating a secret release clause of £60 million.
On a scale of 1-10 how confident are you that Nottingham Forest will keep Morgan Gibbs-White this summer?
How much is the star man worth?🔥
Marinakis stood firm, however, and persuaded Gibbs-White to stay and added another year to his contract.
With 18 goals and seven assists last season, it’s imperative that Gibbs-White doesn’t leave in the same summer as Anderson, and now, Tottenham have indirectly shown Forest why they must stand firm on the captain.

Bizarre Tottenham deal should give Forest hope over Morgan Gibbs-White
Given his season in 2025/26, there will definitely be some interest in Gibbs-White this summer.
It’s been claimed by some outlets that Tottenham remain interested and they are splashing the cash this summer.
However, it’s been claimed in the last 24 hours that Tottenham are paying £52 million for Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton, despite the fact that he has just 12 months remaining on his deal.
If Spurs are willing to fork out that kind of money for a defender with a year to run on his contract, Gibbs-White will maintain some of his valuation for another year.
Nobody is deluded enough to think that Forest can keep Gibbs-White forever, with the number 10 likely to want Champions League football at some point.
However, if a club like Spurs with funds are willing to plunge £52 million for a defender with one year left on his deal, imagine what they might pay for an attacking player.
If Forest can enjoy a quality season and somehow sneak back into Europe, perhaps giving Gibbs-White a contract extension can become a reality.
If it doesn’t, it shouldn’t concern Forest too much, and it seems for all the world that the Reds would still be able to get a sizeable fee for the player even if he does move to within a year of his contract expiring.
Would you consider cashing in on Matz Sels this summer?
How would you rate his time at Forest? 👍or👎
Transfer fees are vastly inflated these days, and although last summer’s Gibbs-White debacle involving Tottenham has created a small rivalry, Spurs might just be helping Forest keep their star man for at least another year by signing Van Hecke.
