Vitor Pereira is expected to leave Nottingham Forest.
Despite picking up the ninth most points in the Premier League since his arrival, Vitor Pereira is on the verge of departing the City Ground.
It was reported last month that Nottingham Forest were considering replacing Pereira, with Marco Silva viewed as a potential successor.
And now, according to Fabrizio Romano, it seems Evangelos Marinakis has made the bombshell decision weeks after the end of the season.
Romano posted on X: “Nottingham Forest and Vitor Pereira could NOT continue together for the upcoming season.
“Understand there’s movement behind the scenes at NFFC and Pereira could be gone.”
VITOR PEREIRA IS SET TO LEAVE NOTTINGHAM FOREST! WHAT ARE YOUR INSTANT THOUGHTS?
Who do we even get next!?
Who could replace Vitor Pereira?
Well, Silva appeared to be their top target, but the former Fulham manager has returned to Portugal to join Benfica.
Thomas Frank is more than likely to be mooted as an option as he remains out of work following his Tottenham Hotspur exit.
Perhaps Marinakis will look overseas and take a gamble on a promising young coach, with Inigo Perez impressing at Rayo Vallecano.
Stuttgart’s Sebastian Hoeness is often linked when a Premier League vacancy pops up, although he may be a little too ambitious.
One thing’s for certain; Marinakis and his chiefs will have to move at real pace as the transfer window is now in full swing, and the first pre-season game gets underway on the 18th of July against Notts County.
Pereira’s successor should be in post within two weeks at the latest.
