The 2026 World Cup has certainly delivered from an entertainment standpoint so far.
Nottingham Forest supporters have had multiple players to track as well, with six first-teamers plying their trade at the tournament.
Although, after Ibrahim Sangare’s exit with Ivory Coast last night, England midfielder Elliot Anderson is the only one who remains.
💰Who is YOUR dream signing to replace Elliot Anderson this summer?
The midfielder is set for a £116m move to Manchester City
Anderson could become only the second World Cup winner to play for the Tricky Trees, but can you guess the first and only one?

Gonzalo Montiel is the only World Cup winner to play for Nottingham Forest
Gonzalo Montiel, who plied his trade with the Tricky Trees during the 2023/24 campaign, is the only World Cup winner to play for Forest.
Montiel was a Steve Cooper signing as he joined on loan from Spanish giants Sevilla just months after winning the World Cup with Argentina in December 2022.
The full-back made 19 appearances in total, but clearly didn’t impress enough as Evangelos Marinakis and his chiefs decided against activating his option to buy clause.
The 29-year-old is still a regular for Argentina and started the first group stage game at the 2026 World Cup.
Montiel featured in the 3-0 win against Algeria, although he was taken off at half-time and hasn’t played a single minute since.
Ola Aina reckons Forest could finish top four next season, thoughts? 🤔
Anderson will be hoping he can create more Forest history and become the first active player to win the World Cup.
England are in action in the round of 32 this evening, as they take on DR Congo in Atalanta.
If Thomas Tuchel’s side win, they’ll be up against Mexico in the round of 16 at the famous Azteca Stadium.
