The end looks to be close for Jota Silva when it comes to his Nottingham Forest career.
Forest signed Silva from Vitoria Guimaraes before the 2024/25 campaign, and he scored four goals and claimed three assists from 38 appearances during that season.
🤔STICK OR TWIST: Should Nottingham Forest give James McAtee another year to prove himself?
Ultimately, Silva couldn’t get himself into the starting eleven on a regular basis, and last summer, Forest loaned him out to Besiktas.
That move didn’t transpire either, and now Evangelos Marinakis has devised a plan to get him out of the City Ground.
Olympiacos to sign Jota Silva
According to The Athletic, Silva is due in Athens to sign terms on a deal to sign for Olympiacos.
It’s a third consecutive summer that has seen Silva on the move, but on this occasion, Forest might have dropped the ball a bit.
Whilst it’s great that Marinakis has managed to get Silva’s wages off the books, it appears his move to Greece is only a season-long loan.

Silva is never going to get himself in a position to play again at Forest with Callum Hudson-Odoi, Omari Hutchinson and Dilane Bakwa all more viable options.
Furthermore, the Reds might look to sign another winger this summer, and that would only shunt Silva further down the pecking order.
Marinakis should have sold Silva
Marinakis has done a lot of things right at Forest – including bringing Oliver Glasner to the club – but he’s missed a trick here.
A deal should have been done to take Silva to Olympiacos permanently, but instead, Forest will now have to try and sell a below-par player next summer with just one year remaining on his deal.

The inter-link deals between Forest and Olympiacos are a little bit tedious in the eyes of the fans, but this was a golden chance to actually do a good one for the best interests of the Reds.
Now, it remains to be seen what will happen with Silva at Olympiacos but it does feel as though Forest might have to accept a small loss on the forward when it comes to selling him next summer.
