Nottingham Forest had sporting director Matteo Tognozzi on the ground as Argentina beat Egypt in a World Cup classic.
The new Forest figure will be part of the recruitment process at the City Ground, working alongside George Syrianos and Pedro Ferreira, with Oliver Glasner having the final say.
🤝Oliver Glasner is the new Nottingham Forest head coach but what is the one piece of advice you would give the new man?

The newly appointed Forest boss will be keen to add some players, and he will have arrived on Trentside expecting to be backed.
After it was claimed that Tognozzi was spotted watching the 3-2 win for Argentina against Egypt, we’ve run the rule over three players he might have spied during his visit.

Three players who might have caught Forest’s eye in Argentina vs Egypt
Nahuel Molina
The Atletico Madrid full-back played for 72 minutes of the contest, being withdrawn to make way for attacking options as Argentina trailed 2-0.
Molina has been linked with Forest previously, and given he only has a year to run on his deal at the Metropolitano, this could be a viable option.

Glasner has already said Forest are short at right-back and that could mean Tognozzi was paying extra attention to the 28-year-old’s performance vs Egypt.
Molina has played 62 times for his country and also boasts 181 appearances at the elite level with Atletico.

Haissem Hassan
Egypt midfielder Hassan might have been the second player he was looking at during the contest against Argentina.
Hassan is currently playing his club football in the Spanish second tier for Real Oviedo and would likely jump to move to a top division at 24-years-old.

The midfielder has played for Villarreal previously and his World Cup performances may have caught the eye of some teams in top European divisions.
Hassan might be an unlikely signing given that Forest could have bigger fish to fry, but as a squad option, who knows?

Nicolas Gonzalez
Another option that feels as though it could be realistic, given that Tognozzi used to work for Juventus, is Argentina winger Gonzalez.
The 28-year-old has been with Juve since 2024, and last season he spent time out on loan with Atletico Madrid, where he made 39 appearances and scored five goals.

His hopes of breaking into the team at Juve again might look bleak, and as a result, the 55-cap player might be made available for transfer.
Forest have been linked with Gonzalez before, and with Tognozzi now helping to choose the signings, perhaps this one could accelerate this summer.

Who Tognozzi provided reports on now remains to be seen, and with the World Cup now drawing to a close, it remains to be seen if the sporting director will be in attendance at any further matches.
Forest have to get the recruitment right this summer and hopefully, Glasner can have a huge say in which players he gets to work with at the club.
