Glasner will take charge of Forest for the first time on Saturday with a short trip to Notts County before heading off to Portugal for a warm-weather training camp.

As he gets his feet under the table, however, it’s been claimed that he sees himself building his team around this season.

Who should be the official Nottingham Forest captain? Stick with Ryan Yates or give it permanently to Morgan Gibbs-White?

The three Nottingham Forest stars Glasner will build a team around

The departure of Elliot Anderson has seemingly led to Evangelos Marinakis taking a firm stance on any additional departures.

As a result, Glasner is hoping to build his team around Morgan Gibbs-White, and that doesn’t really come as a surprise.

The other two players it’s been reported that he wants to build his team around are Murillo and Neco Williams.

Murillo certainly doesn’t come as too much of a surprise given what he’s achieved so far at the club, and he’s comfortably the team’s stellar defender.

It came as a surprise when he penned a new contract, and now, Forest can look forward to having him as part of the team for a number of years.

Williams is a little bit surprising, as although he’s in talks over a new contract, he’s been linked with Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham this summer.

With that in mind, it would be a hammer blow for Glasner to lose him, given that he views the Welshman as an important player for him this season.

Glasner will likely try to adopt his 3-4-3 strategy at Forest, and the players will need to quickly get up to speed with that ahead of the new season.

The Austrian has been brought to the club to build a project, and fans would be more than happy should Gibbs-White, Murillo and Williams all play big roles during his time at the club.
