Nottingham Forest are going to be in the market for some new players this summer as the Oliver Glasner revolution gets underway.

Forest won their first pre-season friendly 2-0 against Notts County on Saturday, with Igor Jesus and Arnaud Kalimuendo getting the goals.

Glasner was given a warm welcome from the travelling Forest fans as the Reds enjoyed a fruitful afternoon on the other side of the River Trent.

Now, with the players set to jet off to Portugal for a pre-season training camp, news of another transfer link has done the rounds.

Nottingham Forest want Nicolas Tagliafico

The left-back will jet off on holiday in the coming days as Argentina were beaten 1-0 by Spain in the World Cup Final on Sunday afternoon.

The reigning champions couldn’t muster a shot on target in the entire 120 minutes, with Ferran Torres scoring the only goal of the game in the extra period.

Now, according to Nicolo Schira, the Reds have opened talks with Tagliafico as the defender prepares to leave Lyon during the summer transfer window.

Deportivo La Coruna are also in the race to sign Tagliafico, but moving to the Premier League has been a number of years in the making for the defender.

Forest wanted a stellar recruit at left-back following promotion in 2022, with Renan Lodi the man who eventually came to sign for the club.

Cooper was keen to bring the Argentine performer to the City Ground but eventually lost the race to Lyon, where he’s played ever since.

Now, he could be on the move though, with his performances catching the eye whilst playing for the team who eventually lost in the final to Spain.

The 31-year-old has bags of experience, highlighted none more so than by the 81 caps that he’s claimed for the national team across his career.

If a deal can be struck, this could be a very useful deal for Forest to complete, and hopefully something can be done to bring him to the City Ground.
