Nottingham Forest are showing an interest in Folarin Balogun this summer transfer window.

It’s being reported that Forest are considering a bid to sign Balogun after his impressive World Cup campaign with the USA.

Oliver Glasner is eager to bolster his striking ranks, and Balogun appears to be emerging as a top target.

With that said, ahead of a potential transfer to Nottingham Forest, we’ve picked out four interesting facts about the 25-year-old.

Folarin Balogun came through at Arsenal

Balogun came through Arsenal’s prestigious academy and netted an impressive 40 goals in 66 appearances for their reserve team.

The 2001-born made his senior debut for the Gunners in October 2020, coming on as a substitute against Dundalk FC in the Europa League group stages.

Balogun made 10 appearances for the first team, netting two goals, before leaving the Emirates Stadium on a permanent deal for AS Monaco in 2023.

Balogun spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Stade Reims, and he enjoyed a prolific campaign for the French outfit.

He netted 21 times in Ligue 1 and actually outscored Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi, who notched 16 goals.

Off the back of that, Balogun secured a whopping £35m move to Monaco.

Speaking to US Soccer, Balogun revealed that he’s a big F1 fan and is able to watch the Monaco Grand Prix from his own balcony.

“I’ve had the pleasure of watching it from my balcony. It was something I didn’t expect. I really enjoyed it, but it’s a little bit noisy.”

Asked for his favourite driver, he replied: “I’ve got two. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.”

Early in his career, Balogun actually plied his trade in the Championship with Middlesbrough in the second half of the 2021/22 season.

The then 19-year-old made 21 appearances for Chris Wilder’s Boro, netting three goals and laying on as many assists.
