Nottingham Forest are keen on signing Argentina international Nicolas Tagliafico.
It’s understood that Forest have opened talks with Tagliafico, who only has one year remaining on his Lyon contract.
The 33-year-old has been a long-term target for the club, as Steve Cooper wanted to land his signature back in 2022.
Which of our four strikers would you be inclined to move on if we sign Folarin Balogun or another striker this summer?
There is competition for Tagliafico, as several clubs are reportedly considering a move to sign him, with La Liga outfit Deportivo named as a potential suitor.
That said, Nottingham Forest do hold a secret weapon in the race to sign the Argentinian left-back.

Nicolas Dominguez could help Nottingham Forest sign Nicolas Tagliafico
Nottingham Forest midfielder Nicolas Dominguez was part of the Argentina squad that won the Copa America in 2021.
As such, Dominguez will already have a relationship with Tagliafico, who was also in the squad that summer.
In fact, the pair have actually played together 10 times throughout their international careers.
Perhaps the Forest star could put in a good word to his compatriot and convince him to make the switch to the City Ground over other suitors.
Tagliafico may also be more tempted to join as he’ll already have a friend to help him settle in and adjust to a new country.
What message would you send to George Syrianos as he gets to work in his new role replacing Edu? Are you happy with the decision?

A move to the Premier League would likely be more financially rewarding for Tagliafico, so that could be another incentive.
In Oliver Glaser’s system, the former Ajax star would have more license to attack as he’d operate as a wing-back.
With all that said, it wouldn’t at all be surprising if Tagliafico makes Forest his priority destination this summer.
The club-to-club agreement shouldn’t be too difficult, with Lyon forced to sell this summer unless they are prepared to risk losing him for free in 2027.
