Nottingham Forest are closing in on the signing of Ousmane Diomande.
Oliver Glasner is close to bringing in his first Nottingham Forest signing this summer, as the club have agreed a deal to sign the Sporting centre-back.
It’s understood that Forest will be shelling out £35m on Diomande’s signature, which seems like exceptional value in this crazy market.

That said, the 22-year-old will still go down as one of Forest’s most expensive signings of all time.
Here is where he ranks in the top five record transfers.
5) Ibrahim Sangare – £30m
Ibrahim Sangare is Forest’s fifth most expensive signing, as he arrived from PSV in a deal reportedly worth £30m three years ago.
Sangare has turned out to be an exceptional addition, and he recently penned a new deal with the Tricky Trees, evincing his importance to the team.
4) Elliot Anderson – £35m
Elliot Anderson joins the list in the number four spot.
At the time, many raised their eyebrows when Forest paid Newcastle United £35m for Anderson during the 2024 summer transfer window.
But, quite quickly it became apparent that the East Midlanders had pulled off one of the best bargains in Premier League history.
Forest made a huge profit by selling Anderson to Manchester City for £116m this summer.
3) Ousmane Diomande* – £35m
Coming in on the podium is indeed Ousmane Diomande, who is due to become Forest’s third most expensive acquisition.
Diomande was close to joining Crystal Palace for £46m last summer, so even on that basis, the East Midlanders have landed his signature for a great price.
Evangelos Marinakis and his chiefs certainly know how to negotiate deals, and this one looks like another tremendous buy.
2) Dan Ndoye – £35.8m
Dan Ndoye hasn’t lived up to expectations following his £35.8m transfer from Serie A outfit Bologna last summer.
Ndoye has netted two goals in 37 appearances for Forest and is being linked with a return to Italy.
It was reported last month that Inter were exploring a deal to sign Ndoye.
1) Omari Hutchinson – £37m
And, coming in at the number one spot is Omari Hutchinson, who remains the club’s record buy.
After a decent season at Ipswich Town, Forest took quite a gamble and paid them £37m for his signature in 2025.
Hutchinson has shown flashes, but Forest fans are still yet to see the best of the 22-year-old, who could still turn out to be a good addition.
Perhaps he’ll have some joy in Glasner’s dual number 10 system this term.
