Nottingham Forest sign Xaver Schlager
Forest are waiting on news that a deal has been struck with Sporting CP for the signing of Ousmane Diomande, but the Reds have announced the first signing of the Glasner era.
Xaver Schlager has put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Reds as he has reunited with Glasner.
Schlager was playing for RB Leipzig last season – where he was vice-captain – and arrives at the City Ground with Champions League experience and having also played for Austria at the World Cup.
Schlager spent two years playing under Glasner with Wolfsburg, and the midfielder is a player clearly admired by the Forest head coach.
The 28-year-old has played 55 times for his country, and his arrival will bolster the competition for places in the midfield engine room.

Glasner will now hope this signing has a domino effect and more players can be added to the ranks before the Reds play any more pre-season matches.
Schlager will now join in with first-team training, and he should be available to play against Vitoria in the next friendly, which is due to be played behind closed doors.
