Nottingham Forest want to sign Lucas Bergvall from Tottenham this summer, but contingency plans are being drawn up.
Signing players from other Premier League clubs is never easy to do, and this summer, Forest’s rivals are aware that the Reds have £116 million to spend in the wake of Elliot Anderson’s move to Manchester City.
Bergvall is valued at £65 million by Tottenham, and that might tempt Forest into looking elsewhere for a different central midfielder this summer.

According to The Guardian, Camara is the name on Forest’s shortlist should the pursuit of Bergvall end in disappointment this summer.
The Monaco player spent time playing for Senegal at the World Cup, featuring in all four matches they played in the United States.

Camara has been with Monaco for two years after making the switch from FC Metz in 2024, and he’s quickly become a regular with the Ligue 1 giants.
The 22-year-old has scored five goals and claimed 11 assists from 71 appearances for Monaco, and last season he featured in 31 games in all competitions.
Camara has better duel success rate than Nicolas Dominguez
It was somewhat unfair to compare Camara to Elliot Anderson or Ibrahim Sangare because those two Forest players played more games in their respective divisions last season.
So, instead, we looked at some data from SofaScore in comparison to Nicolas Dominguez, who played just three games more than Camara last season.

It would appear as though the Senegalese player comes out on top when it comes to winning duels, with the youngster winning an average of 5 per game in comparison to Dominguez, who wins just 2.7.
He also wins more tackles and more interceptions per game, and as a result, landing Camara would be a big deal from a Forest perspective.
Bergvall remains the top target, but perhaps Camara can be a very useful alternative if the Reds are thwarted in their efforts.
