Nottingham Forest sold Elliot Anderson to Manchester City for £116 million during the World Cup.
Anderson cost £35 million two summers ago in a deal that was offset by Odysseas Vlachodimos joining Newcastle for £20 million.
As a result, the Anderson deal proved stunning for Forest, with a huge amount of profit made on the decision to sell him to City this summer.

Anderson himself is hardly responsible for Forest finding it difficult to sign players, but there’s an argument his move has skewed the whole transfer market.
Although Forest fans will agree that £116 million was a fair price for Anderson, it’s a sign of the times that a club that finishes 16th can sell a star player for such a valuation.
