Nottingham Forest youngster Brennan Johnson is showing no signs of slowing down on loan at Lincoln City, earning rave reviews for his performance on Saturday.

The Imps won 6-2 in the FA Cup and have set up a second round tie with Plymouth Argyle.

Johnson will spend the season on loan with Michael Appleton’s team and right now the move is doing him the world of good.

His goal on Saturday was his second in the red and white of Lincoln, whilst he also has four assists to his name.

Johnson has adapted to men’s football with aplomb and plenty of people at the City Ground see him as a future star.

On Saturday the on-loan Forest man earned a rating of 9/10 from Lincolnshire Live for his efforts against Forest Green Rovers.

The player ratings piece claimed: “Another sensational performance from the on-loan forward, who looks even more dangerous when he’s deployed through the middle.”

The Verdict – Johnson set for stardom

In fairness to Johnson some supporters would have been happy to see him included in the Forest squad this season.

Obviously Sabri Lamouchi saw things somewhat differently though.

Forest have struggled to tuck chances away this season and have also had problems with creativity at times.

Johnson might have helped on that front but at the same time, him playing regular football is hardly a bad thing.

It’s interesting that this latest assessment claims he looks dangerous through the middle.

His eight outings in a Forest shirt have typically been through the middle and that might be where his long-term future is.

Watch this space but Johnson looks set for stardom at the City Ground.
