Nottingham Forest simply love to sign a player. Evangelos Marinakis signed 22 new players in the summer and he’s told The Telegraph that more should follow in January.

It’s rare for the Reds’ owner to conduct an interview with the British press but that is what he’s done. He’s claimed that he’d like more new players to arrive in January, with two new signings expected.

Marinakis has firmly put his money where his mouth is of late. The whole notion of supporters choosing to question his every movement is a sad indictment of modern-day football.

Ultimately, it’s Marinakis who has bankrolled the club to the Premier League and essentially he can make whatever decisions he wishes to do so.

Despite a plethora of new players arriving in the summer, the Olympiacos owner wants more new recruits to sign in January.

He told The Telegraph: “We will try to get at least an additional two players in January which will help us. That’s the plan for the technical team and coaching staff, but we believe in the players we already have.”

The Reds could have some space in their squad soon. Loic Bade is set to return to Rennes after a failed loan and some other players could leave in January too.

Marinakis wants more players at Forest

This is hardly surprising but it’s actually quite exciting too. Forest are 18th in the Premier League and Marinakis won’t be happy with that.

He will want to ensure that the club does whatever it takes to stay up this season. If the club could avoid relegation then they could seriously kick on next season.

Forest have been a little bit unlucky. Although the start to the 2022/23 campaign wasn’t particularly good, it did get a little better prior to the World Cup.

The Reds are in safe hands with Marinakis. He may have made some decisions that haven’t gone down too well but ultimately, he’s done a lot of good at the City Ground.
