Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis wasn’t particularly happy with something Steve Cooper did on Saturday.
The Reds drew 1-1 with Wolves and it’s claimed by The Athletic that the owner took Cooper to task after the share of the spoils.
Forest took the lead in the contest. Brennan Johnson swept home through the legs of Jose Sa, following some good play from Morgan Gibbs-White and Danilo.

The Reds couldn’t hold on though and had to settle for a point. Daniel Podence showed some good feet in the box before scoring beyond Keylor Navas via a deflection.
That led Marinakis to feel very aggrieved at Cooper and in the post-match debrief he told the Welshman of his grievances.
It’s claimed that the owner wasn’t happy with Forest’s second substitution. In the 67th minute, Joe Worrall was summonsed from the bench and he replaced Emmanuel Dennis, with Forest switching to a back three.
The change came on the back of Wolves going to a 4-2-4 and had to be viewed as proactive by Cooper.
Still, the bigwig wasn’t happy. He felt that the decision by Cooper merely invited pressure onto Forest and meant they weren’t pressing as much for a second goal.
Forest owner Marinakis wasn’t happy with Cooper decision
The owner would be wise to let Cooper deal with the tactics when it comes to the football side of things.
Cooper would have been damned if he did and damned if he didn’t on Saturday. He must be lauded for his proactive approach but perhaps it did force Forest into a defensive stance.

It’s not good that Marinakis appears to be at every game these days. Clearly, he’s concerned by the club’s current form but Forest’s fate is in their own hands.
Marinakis would face a ferocious backlash from supporters if he sacked Cooper.
After his heroics of last season, the head coach has to stay and the owner would be extremely wise to leave tactics to Cooper and his staff.
