A worrying report has emerged regarding Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis and head coach Steve Cooper.
The Reds slipped to another defeat against Brighton on Saturday – their first on home soil during 2023/24.
Marinakis watched on from his seat in the stands as Cooper saw his Forest team succumb to yet another defeat from a game in which they led.
Reports have circulated since that Cooper is now under threat at Forest. The Reds face Everton at home next and defeat doesn’t bear thinking about for the boss.
Journalist makes claim about Marinakis and Cooper
According to the Daily Mail’s Midlands reporter Tom Collomosse, the relationship between Marinakis and Cooper has become strained more recently.
Naturally, the owner is expecting an improvement on last season and although there have been signs of progress, the rate has been quite slow.

Forest sit 14th in the Premier League, eight points clear of the relegation zone. This time last year, Forest were bottom of the Premier League and things have improved since then.
A reason isn’t cited for Marinakis and Cooper now having a strained relationship. It’s crystal clear, however, that the head coach needs some positive results quickly.
Marinakis will hope Cooper can revive Forest fortunes
It’s clear that the ambitious owner is desperate for Cooper to work out at Forest.
It that statement wasn’t true, he would have sacked the head coach last season during two horrendous periods.
At one point, it was claimed that Patrick Vieira was ready to take over from Cooper but the Forest chief stood firm.
Marinakis won’t be happy with recent results having forked out for another 13 players during the summer.
As a result, Cooper will know that he needs to get some results quickly in order to keep the boss from knocking on his door.
