Rodney Marsh has praised Nottingham Forest on X for the way they defended against Everton.
The former Queens Park Rangers and Manchester City forward made the observation just before Forest conceded against the Toffees.
Nottingham Forest have suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of Everton at the City Ground in the Premier League on Saturday.
Rodney Marsh on Nottingham Forest vs Everton
Dwight McNeil found the back of the net for the Merseyside club midway through the second half.
The winger scored with a half-volley at the back post. It was the best moment of the game.
As you can see, Rodney Marsh was following the match, and he was impressed by the way Forest defended against Everton.
The former Fulham forward, though, knew that his comment would be “the kiss of death”, and it proved to be so.
Nottingham Forest fans should stay positive
In my view, Nottingham Forest fans should stay positive despite the latest defeat and should not panic.
The loss to Everton was their third successive defwat in the Premier League. Steve Cooper’s side are now six points above the relegation zone. There is speculation on Cooper’s future at the City Ground.

Forest are still very much in danger of getting into a relegation fight despite grand ambitions of aiming for a European spot in the Premier League table this season.
But, Forest fans need to be calm and positive. Cooper was in the same position last season. He got the Reds out of trouble. I believe that he could be able to do it again.
Forest will return to action on Wednesday evening when they take on Fulham away from home at Craven Cottage in London in the Premier League. The Reds will then face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the league next weekend.
