Crystal Palace are waiting in the wings to appoint Steve Cooper if Nottingham Forest decide to terminate his contract with the club.
The Premier League outfit could soon be on the lookout for a new manager themselves. They were beaten 2-0 by Bournemouth last night and Roy Hodgson is in trouble.
Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman are long-term admirers of Cooper’s work. They would love to get him in place at Selhurst Park and he could soon be available.
Palace watching Forest situation
Last night’s 5-0 defeat for Forest at Fulham has increased the pressure on Cooper. However, it’s been reported today that his job is safe for now.
The 43-year-old does look to be on borrowed time at the City Ground. According to the Daily Mail, Palace are now simply waiting for Forest to sack Cooper before making their own move.

Cooper has had admirers inside Palace for some time. They do also have Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna on their shortlist.
Cooper won’t be out of work for long
The talented head coach is still learning at this level. Cooper has only been a Premier League manager for a season and 15 games and he’s still learning his trade.
Evangelos Marinakis is very ambitious though and he’s spent a lot of money. As a result, Cooper is now under pressure at Forest as they bid to arrest their current form.
Sadly, it looks as though the players at Forest have let Cooper down badly. They need to put a show on for him at Wolves on Saturday as Palace wait in the wings for the Forest head coach.
Cooper is a respected head coach. He’s earned his stripes over the years and it looks as though he will continue his Premier League journey with or without Forest.
