Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis wasn’t a happy man last night and he let his feelings know on his way out of Craven Cottage.

He had just watched Forest get roughed up by the Cottagers who ran out comfortable 5-0 winners.

The Reds were competitive for half an hour in West London but another goal followed within four minutes, with a further three scored in the second half.

What Marinakis did on the way out of Craven Cottage

The Greek business tycoon is a man who wears his heart on his sleeve. If he does swing his axe in the direction of Steve Cooper, he can’t be criticised for not backing him.

A Fulham fan has revealed on X, formerly known as Twitter, what Marinakis did on his way out of Craven Cottage after last night’s comprehensive rout.

His VIP badge for the Directors’ box was thrown on the street near the ground, with the Amazon Prime cameras clearly showing how unhappy he was.

He wasn’t in the ground at the end as fans rallied around Cooper; singing his name repeatedly, seemingly in case they don’t get the chance to see him again after this.

Marinakis fuming after Forest get battered

The owner of the football club has every right to be angry after this defeat. Forest were outfought and outmuscled for over an hour on a sorry night for Cooper.

He owned the responsibility afterwards. He fronted up to the supporters afterwards, with Stuart Pearce calling the scenes extraordinary.

Marinakis can’t have been happy with the performance of a squad that has cost so much of his money to assemble over the last three transfer windows.

Now, the writing looks to be on the wall for Cooper at the City Ground. Marinakis wants Forest to become an established Premier League club and right now a relegation battle is on the cards once more.
