Paul Merson has given his prediction of the Premier League match between Gary O’Neil’s Wolverhampton Wanderers and Steve Cooper’s Nottingham Forest.

The former Aston Villa star and Sky Sports pundit believes that a single goal will be the difference between the two teams.

So, what has Paul Merson said about Wolverhampton Wanderers against Nottingham Forest? Let’s take a look.

Paul Merson predicts Wolverhampton Wanderers to beat Nottingham Forest

Well, Nottingham Forest will take on Wolverhampton Wanderers away from home at Molineux Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.

Forest have lost their last four league matches. The Reds went down 5-0 to Fulham away from home at Craven Cottage in the Premier League in midweek.

Wolves bounced back from a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last weekend with a 1-0 victory over Burnley at home in the Premier League on Tuesday.

Merson told SportsKeeda: “I like Wolves, they are a proper mid-table team and have done really well for themselves this season under Gary O’Neil.

“They got a good 1-0 win against Burnley and I expect them to have too much in their locker for Nottingham Forest, so I’m going for a 1-0 Wolves win.

“I like Steve Cooper a lot and he’s done a fantastic job, but I fear the owners and the chairman would expect Forest to be higher up in the table, so they might look to sack him.

“This is a big game for him, but I can’t see them getting all three points.

“Prediction: Wolves 1-0 Nottingham Forest.”

Nottingham Forest could beat Wolverhampton Wanderers

In my view, Nottingham Forest could beat Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League this weekend.

Yes, Wolves are in better form and are also at home. Gary O’Neil has done a wonderful job at the Wanderers, and I am not surprised that West Ham United are looking at him.

However, Forest have beaten sides they were not expected to this season. Remember the 2-0 win against Aston Villa in November? What about a 1-0 victory over Chelsea in September?

Steve Cooper is under pressure at Forest, and I believe that is why the manager will get his team going. Some players have publicly praised him, and I am confident that they will step up their game against Wolves.
