Nottingham Forest could sell Murillo in the summer of 2024 and could demand as big a fee as they got for Brennan Johnson when they sold him to Tottenham Hotspur.

That is according to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, who has claimed Forest’s stance on Murillo.

So, what has been reported about Nottingham Forest and Murillo? Let’s take a look.

Nottingham Forest could sell Murillo

Well, according to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, Nottingham Forest could sell Murillo in the summer of 2024.

The reporter has claimed that Forest, who recently appointed Nuno as their new manager after sacking Steve Cooper, has claimed that Forest expect Murillo to be in big demand at the end of the season.

Ornstein has noted that if the Reds were to sell the 21-year-old central defender in the summer of 2024, then they will demand a fee similar to what they got for Brennan Johnson.

Tottenham signed Wales international forward Johnson from Forest in the summer of 2023. Spurs paid £47.5 million in transfer fees for him (Sky Sports).

When asked in a Q&A in The Athletic if there is any solid interest in Murillo in January, Ornstein said: “I haven’t heard of anything for January, Jack, but he is one who Forest expect to generate interest in the summer.

“The Johnson sale has set an impressive price bar and so if players like Murillo or MGW are to go, the fee will need to be high.”

Murillo is a star player for Nottingham Forest

In my view, Murillo has been one of the best players for Nottingham Forest so far this season.

The 21-year-old joined Forest from Corinthians in the summer of 2023. He moved to the City Ground late in the window and did not have any pre-season with the Reds.

So, it is very impressive just how good he has been for Forest and how quickly he adapted to the demands of the Premier League. And, let us not forget that the Brazilian is only 21 now.

Murillo has made 11 appearances in the Premier League so far this season. Forest are 17th in the league table at the moment with 14 points from 17 matches, five points above third-from-bottom Luton Town, who have played 16 games.
