Nottingham Forest will now face stiff competition from several European clubs, including Liverpool for Nino. The defender has been on the radar of Forest for some time and will leave Fluminense next month.
The Reds are hoping to secure a deal for the defender ahead of the other interested parties. It’s being claimed that Feyenoord, Roma and Fulham are now also in the race to land him.
Forest linked Nino helped Fluminense reach the final of the Club World Cup where they lost to Manchester City. Recently, he’d helped his team land the Copa Libertadores where Nino starred in the final.
Forest face competition for Nino
According to Alfredo Pedulla, the interest in Forest target Nino is now intensifying. It’s being claimed that Zenit also asked serious questions about the player but a move to Russia isn’t in his sights.

Fulham and Liverpool both only have tentative interest at this stage. They’ve asked for further information, with Liverpool in particular needing a central defender.
Recently, they’ve been struck down by a number of injuries; with Joel Matip currently on the sidelines with serious knee injury that could sideline him for months.
Forest need to act fast to get defender signed
The situation at Forest is pretty perilous right now. If the Reds keep defending as they are at the moment then ultimately they’re starring at EFL football next season.
Forest shipped another three goals at home to Bournemouth on Saturday in Nuno Espirito Santo’s first match in charge and the need for Nino is strong. The Reds did play with 10 men for a lot of the game, however, and today they face Newcastle.
Nino would be a quality signing for Forest. His form has been so solid in recent months that back in November he was called into the Brazil squad for his efforts.
Hopefully, the fact that Forest are some way down the line with this deal puts other teams off. However, if Liverpool are interested it could spell big problems, with the club firmly in the title race this season.
