Steve Hodge has slammed Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner following his mistake against Arsenal last night.

The man who played for Forest back in the nineties was speaking on BBC Radio Nottingham.

So, what did the summariser say about Forest goalkeeper Turner? Let’s take a closer look…

What Steve Hodge said about Forest goalkeeper Turner

Well, things are becoming particularly untenable between the posts for Turner now – and Forest are hoping to sign another goalkeeper.

The 29-year-old only joined Forest in the summer and already it seems as though his days wearing the gloves in the Garibaldi might be numbered.

Hodge wasn’t impressed with Turner after his feeble attempt to deny Gabriel Jesus resulted in him making a ridiculously bad mistake.

The pundit told BBC Radio Nottingham: “I’m sorry to say but Matt Turner has had an absolute shocker in goal once again, I’m afraid.”

Turner signed for Forest in the summer from Arsenal for around £10 million and it was anticipated that he’d likely be a number two.

However, he’s been the number one for most of the season and these mistakes simply can’t keep happening.

Forest have to replace haphazard goalkeeper

At this stage, Turner has nowhere to hide and his confidence looks shot to complete pieces.

It’s not unfair to say that Turner is the worst goalkeeper that Forest have ever had in a top-flight campaign and his mistakes are proving costly.

The stopper was slammed by Premier League great Shay Given earlier today and his form simply can’t be allowed to go on.

Forest have been linked with Sam Johnstone ahead of the deadline and hopefully, that link can bear some fruit before the cut-off.

Turner needs taking out of the firing line way or another now and it really needs to be a case of next man up for Forest.
