Chris Sutton has predicted how Nuno’s Nottingham Forest will fare against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.

The former Chelsea striker and BBC Sport pundit thinks that there will be four goals at the City Ground this weekend.

So, what has Chris Sutton said ahead of Nottingham Forest against Newcastle United? Let’s take a look.

Chris Sutton predicts draw in Nottingham Forest vs Newcastle United

Well, Nottingham Forest will take on Newcastle United at the City Ground in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Forest are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship, while Newcastle still have a slim chance of finishing in the top four of the Premier League table this season.

The Reds have picked up 21 points from 23 matches. Nuno’s side are only two points above the relegation zone. Taiwo Awoniyi is very likely to start on Saturday evening.

Newcastle are ninth now with 33 points from 23 games. Eddie Howe’s team are 13 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.

Former Chelsea striker and BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton thinks that the match at the City Ground on Saturday evening will end in a draw.

Sutton told BBC Sport: I really don’t know how to judge Newcastle at the moment, good or bad. They got such an impressive result away from home against Aston Villa but ended up having to fight back for a point at home to Luton a few days later.

Eddie Howe’s side are conceding a lot of goals – including when Chris Wood scored a hat-trick for Nottingham Forest against them at St James’ Park a few weeks ago – and they are another team where I just don’t know what we are going to get.

“Forest needed penalties to get past Bristol City in the FA Cup this week and they are still waiting for their first win of 2024. The obvious result here is a draw, so I am going to go with that.

“Sutton’s prediction: 2-2.”

My View: Nottingham Forest will win vs Newcastle United

I am predicting a win for Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening. I do not think that Nuno’s side will win big, but I am backing them to get the job done against Newcastle United at the City Ground.

Forest won in the FA Cup in midweek and drew with Bournemouth in the Premier League last weekend. It shows that the Reds have some momentum going for them.

Newcastle conceded as many as four goals against relegation-threatened Luton Town at St. James’ Park in the Premier League last weekend. They are not great at the back right now.
