Crystal Palace are now seriously considering sacking Roy Hodgson after positive talks with Nottingham Forest-linked Oliver Glasner.

This news comes from Ed Aarons of The Guardian.

So, what is the situation with Glasner following the links with a move to Forest? Let’s take a closer look…

Crystal Palace now make Forest-linked Oliver Glasner top target

Well, it would appear as though the Austrian head coach is keen to take over at the Premier League outfit – with Hodgson now in danger of the sack.

Earlier this week it was claimed that Glasner was being courted by Bayern Munich as they consider the future of Thomas Tuchel.

Now, according to Ed Aarons, positive talks have taken place and that has pushed the current Palace boss closer to the trap door.

The veteran manager had come under scrutiny following an alarming run of form with their latest performance ending in a 3-1 defeat to Chelsea – with all three Blues goals coming in the second half.

Palace had for so long been linked with a move for Steve Cooper – even when he was at Forest – but now he looks set to miss out.

Glasner was linked with Forest back in December, although it’s claimed that Marinakis wasn’t convinced by the manager and went for Nuno Espirito Santo instead.

Glasner, 49 would have been a somewhat risky appointment for Forest given that he’s got no Premier League experience.

However, his work with Eintracht Frankfurt looks impressive after he won the Europa League with the Bundesliga outfit.

Palace are just three points ahead of Forest in the Premier League and face fellow strugglers Everton away from home at the weekend.

The Eagles don’t really have anything to lose at this stage, and it’s likely that Hodgson would leave Selhurst Park in the summer anyway.

Glasner is readily available – and now he seemingly wants to take over at Palace and get his Premier League career underway.

Glasner would have come to Forest as an unknown quantity and the Reds might not have to wait too long to see exactly what he’s capable of in the Premier League.
