Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has admitted that he was worried about Nuno’s Nottingham Forest.
Villa beat Forest 4-2 at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday.
So, what has Aston Villa manager Unai Emery said about Nottingham Forest? Let’s take a look.
Unai Emery comments on Nottingham Forest after Aston Villa match
Well, Nottingham Forest suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Aston Villa away from home at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Villa were 3-0 up at one stage, with Ollie Watkins scoring after just four minutes and then Douglas Luiz finding the back of the net twice in quick succession.
Forest went into the half-time break 3-1 down and scored another goal through Morgan Gibbs-White, a player Aston Villa manager Unai Emery highly rates, in the 48th minute.
Villa scored their fourth goal through Leon Bailey in the 61st minute, and Emery has admitted that until then from the start of the second half, he was worried about Forest.

Emery told BBC Sport: “It was very important. We adapted well at Sheffield United and Fulham after defeats at home but we needed confidence here and a reaction. We are feeling very comfortable and confident at Villa Park. We more or less deserved to win.
“We played a really fantastic match in the first half and only (in) the first 15 minutes of the second half we had some doubts but we stayed calm and reacted well.
“We knew before the match that they could play despite our domination in the match. They have very good transitions and some pace players and they could surprise us. We were very careful about that.
“We didn’t concede any transitions in the first half and we only conceded one corner, which they scored from. The maturity and personality we showed after their second goal was superb and then we scored and controlled the game. We have very different ways to threaten the opponent and different teams demand different things.”
Nottingham Forest need to be better defensively
When a team concedes four goals, you have to look at their defence. As Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno himself said after the match, defensively the visiting team were really bad against Aston Villa at Villa Park.
Yes, Villa have the better team and were at home, but Forest should have done better than conceding as many as three goals inside 39 minutes.
Forest should have been defensively tighter, something that I am sure Nuno will rectify in the upcoming matches.
