Nottingham Forest lost to Liverpool at the City Ground in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

I think that Nottingham Forest played well and defended bravely. Liverpool, though, picked up all three points when Darwin Nunez scored in the final moments.

One of the Forest players who did well against Liverpool was Murillo. The defender started the match for the home team and played for the entire 90 minutes.

Praise for Nottingham Forest defender Murillo vs Liverpool

Former Tottenham Hotspur and England international goalkeeper Paul Robinson was following the match for BBC Radio 5 Live, and he was impressed with Murillo.

The BBC Sport pundit noted in the first half how brave and committed the defender was when Liverpool went on an attack.

Robinson said on BBC Radio 5 Live: “Murillo is brave! Liverpool work it well down the right-hand-side, Conor Bradley pulls it back to Bobby Clarke at the edge of the box and Clarke scuffs his shot but it ends up at Diaz’s feet. It’s fantastic defending from Murillo.”

My View: Murillo an important player for Nottingham Forest

In my opinion, Murillo is one of the best and most important players for Nottingham Forest.

I think that the 21-year-old Brazilian defender has been one of the better players for Forest this season.

The youngster is a regular in the Forest first team, and he plays with a level of maturity that you often do not see in a 21-year-old.

To be a regular for a club as big and historic as Forest at the tender age of 21 is no easy feat, and I think that Murillo is a gem of a footballer.

Nuno’s side are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

In my opinion, if Forest are to avoid relegation from the Premier League, then Murillo will have to be on top of his game in the final weeks and months of the season.
