‘My guess’… Richard Keys thinks he knows what Marinakis will do if Forest are relegated

Richard Keys thinks he knows what Evangelos Marinakis will do if Nottingham Forest are relegated this season. The Reds were deducted four points yesterday to drop into the Premier League relegation zone.

Keys has taken to X to issue a smug riposte to the Forest supporters in the aftermath of the hot news. The pundit was very critical of the club’s approach to transfers following promotion to the Premier League.

Now, Keys has fired back with a pop shot at Forest owner Marinakis. He’s also explained what he thinks the chief will do if the Reds do suffer relegation during 2023/24.

Well, if the Reds are relegated it would certainly hit the Forest owner in the pocket. It’s anticipated that he will appeal these points deducted and hopefully, there is a positive outcome.

Keys, however, doesn’t think Marinakis will hang around at Forest if the club sufferers relegation to the Championship. He believes he will walk away from the City Ground never to be seen again!

He said on X: “What did Forest think the outcome would be when they embarked on their ridiculous spending spree last summer? Today’s events were entirely predictable. I was heavily criticised for saying so. If this results in relegation my guess is you won’t see the owner for dust.”

Keys reverts to type after sticking up for Forest

It was only a little over two weeks ago when Keys stuck up for Forest. He was incensed that Paul Tierney had made a mistake when the Reds played Liverpool and took aim at the referee.

Now, he’s reverted to type, however, and stuck the boot into Forest once again. His points about Marinakis do seem a little far-fetched, however, it has to be said.

Although the Greek businessman was desperate to reach the Premier League with Forest, it’s hard to imagine he will run away if the club do get relegated this season.

Hopefully, it won’t come to that. Forest now have nine games to save themselves in the Premier League and the team simply has to pull together to start winning games.
