Nottingham Forest have enjoyed a positive start to this summer’s transfer window but it could be about to get so much better.

Nuno Espirito Santo has been treated to six new signings this summer as Forest look for vast improvement on last season.

The Reds have enjoyed a strong start to the summer and have been able to work on their fitness over in the Spanish heat recently.

However, their summer of spending could still be yet to provide Nuno with a statement signing as they look to avoid another season hanging around the relegation zone.

And it seems as if the club of one of their summer targets is now preparing themselves to lose their star player with Forest looming.

Champions League club prepared for Nottingham Forest approach

Forest have added to most of their key areas this summer across their six signings made.

However, the one area which has not been touched is up top with a new striker as Nuno still has the same options at his disposal as he did at the end of last season.

That may not be the worst thing given the form Chris Wood showed, but it now seems as if Forest will be looking to bring in a new striker.

Nottingham Forest are now believed to be lining up an approach for Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez.

According to FR 12, Feyenoord are now prepared to lose Gimenez this summer with interest in their Mexican striker.

And the player himself has been described as playing towards a move with the prospect of playing in the Premier League.

Gimenez enjoyed a stunning 2023/24 campaign in the Eredivisie where he was able to provide a return of 23 goals.

The 23-year-old ‘superstar‘ has also received interest from elsewhere in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur having taken a look at Gimenez.

However, it does seem as if it is Forest who could be leading the way for the Mexican with just a few weeks remaining in the window.

The only slight concern may be to how Gimenez could adapt to life in the Premier League having never tested himself in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
