Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of their seventh signing of the summer is now edging closer and closer as the hours pass by.

Nuno Espirito Santo has to be delighted with how Forest‘s summer has gone with the club impressing both in the market and on the pitch.

The Reds have navigated the summer window incredibly well considering they came into it knowing they had to sell some players to avoid further PSR scares.

But Evangelos Marinakis has provided Nuno with ample players to fill in the holes left behind by the departures of the likes of Orel Mangala and Moussa Niakhate.

Six new signings have walked through the doors of the City Ground this summer and that could soon become number seven.

Ramon Sosa is a player Forest have been targeting for weeks now and it looks as if there has been a big update in his potential move.

Fabrizio Romano shares Ramon Sosa update from Nottingham Forest

Forest are heading into their season opener against Bournemouth on Saturday having had time for most of their new signings to settle in.

Anthony Elanga has already expressed how positive Forest’s training camp in Spain was with some of the new player’s impressing.

And it seems as if there is now set to be another new face around the City Ground as Romano shares an update on Sosa‘s proposed move.

Sosa has now landed in the country ahead of his move to Forest and is currently undergoing the first stages of his medical.

Forest have been able to come to a full agreement with Talleres on the fee for the winger with a £10m initial payment agreed.

There will be the potential for a further £4m to be sent to the Argentine in possible add-ons with Talleres also holding a 15% sell-on fee.

Can Ramon Sosa play for Nottingham Forest vs Bournemouth?

It is now going to be a matter of formalities for the Reds to get the deal over the line with Sosa needing to pass his medical.

It looks like Sosa could well be signed in time to make the cut [Friday 12pm] for the game on the weekend.

However, it has to be remembered that Sosa rebelled against Talleres training recently so his fitness is not going to be up to the levels demanded by Nuno.

And even if he was physically ready, the chances of him slotting straight into the squad after one day at the club would be incredibly slim.

Regardless, Forest fans will be glad to see the back of this saga.
