Nottingham Forest are pressing hard to try and sign Santiago Gimenez before the transfer deadline on Friday night.
The Reds were busy trying to get their striker target sorted yesterday – just 24 hours after the team had claimed their first win of the season on Saturday at Southampton.
Yesterday, it was claimed that Eddie Nketiah had been unable to agree on personal terms with Forest and the deal had fallen through.
That piece of information coincided with Fabrizio Romano breaking an exclusive that Forest had made a third bid for Gimenez.
The man who scored 26 goals last season is a wanted man and it looks as though Forest are going to push hard for his signature this month.

What Feyenoord are going to do with Santiago Gimenez bid
The 23-year-old has already got four goals to his name this season and he’s currently preparing for a season playing in the Champions League.
According to Telegraaf in the Netherlands, Feyenoord look set to reject the latest bid from Forest – with a problem in their proposal.
Although the deal amounts to £31 million in total, a large chunk of that is made up of a string of add-ons that would be owed to Feyenoord in the future.
The Eredivisie outfit doesn’t believe that all of those are particularly realistic and are now likely to reject the latest Forest bid.
With the deadline now on the horizon, Forest are going to have to get serious if they’re to bring Gimenez to the City Ground before the window slams shut.
How has Santiago Gimenez performed during 2024/25
He’s started the season like a house on fire and it’s little wonder that Feyenoord are going to fight tooth and nail to keep him.
With a new Champions League format about to get underway, the Dutch outfit will want to keep their best players at the club.
Feyenoord’s main talisman has been in fine form to kick things off during the 2024/25 campaign and he’s already scored four goals.
Gimenez has also claimed two assists from his four appearances and in total, he’s scored 53 goals in 90 outings for Feyenoord.
The striker scored twice in a 5-1 win over PEC Zwolle and also bagged two goals against PSV in the Johan Cruyff Schaal.
Now, it remains to be seen whether or not the Reds can prise Gimenez away from the club ahead of the deadline.
Forest would welcome Gimenez to the City Ground
With Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi at the football club, Forest need a player to come in who would be an upgrade on those two.
Although his only European football has come in the Eredivisie, it’s fair to say that he has a very high ceiling and at 23, he’d still have time to improve.
Gimenez would be a very useful addition and looking at his highlight reels on YouTube and social media make his finishing skills look very impressive.
Forest have to move quickly though and hopefully, a deal can be struck before the window closes until January.
