Nottingham Forest’s summer transfer window is now in the books for another year with some late business done at the City Ground.
Nuno Espirito Santo has certainly been backed this summer with Evangelos Marinakis not holding back in opening the wallet this summer.
Forest have repaid the owner’s ambition over the market with a solid start to the season having taken four points from their opening two games.
A whopping 11 arrivals have been sanctioned at the City Ground this summer on the back of what was a difficult 2023/24 campaign.
And two of those came on the final day of the window with Forest reacting to some late opportunities to put the finishing touches on a busy summer.
One of the deals which was completed has gone done extremely well inside the club with Ross Wilson sharing his thoughts late on deadline day.

Ross Wilson left delighted by deadline day deal at Forest
The first of the arrivals on Friday was the signing of Brazilian defender Morato who Forest announced late on the night
However, the standout piece of business from Forest was the loan signing of James Ward-Prowse from West Ham United for the season.
It seemed an opportunistic move from the Reds who have now landed themselves a seriously experienced midfielder.
Speaking to the club website late on Friday night, Chief Football Officer, Wilson shared his absolute delight in getting a deal for Ward-Prowse over the line.
“We’re thrilled to welcome James Ward-Prowse to Nottingham Forest this evening.
“Everyone is familiar with James’ talent in the Premier League, along with his strong leadership and personal qualities.
“He is someone I’ve known for a long time, and as soon as the opportunity to bring James here arose, Nuno and our ownership moved quickly.
“We’re confident he’ll make an immediate impact both on and off the pitch, and we look forward to him joining up with the squad.”
Forest filling Danilo void with James Ward-Prowse
The 2024/25 campaign could not have gotten off to much of a worse start when Danilo suffered that horrendous injury.
Fortunately, the diagnosis was not as bad as first thought with Danilo only requiring minor surgery.
Nevertheless, it did stretch Forest’s options in the holding midfield roles slightly after just a matter of minuted played in the new season.
But Marinakis and Wilson have reacted in the market to bring in a player who could offer a solid alternative for Nuno in the starting XI.
