Nottingham Forest claimed a huge win over Liverpool on Saturday and it’s transformed a solid start into a great one.
The Premier League is an unforgiving beast and it would appear that Forest are now in safe hands under Nuno Espirito Santo.
It’s two wins and two draws from the first four games and Forest will face another unbeaten side in Brighton on Sunday.
Forest had a number of top performers on Saturday at Anfield and picking a Man of the Match would have been extremely difficult.
Morgan Gibbs-White was praised by Gabby Agbonlahor after the match, whilst Alan Shearer named Ola Aina in his Team of the Week.

Mark Lawrenson raves about Nottingham Forest loan star Alex Moreno
This was a vintage performance from Moreno who showcased exactly what he’s capable of in his first display in the Premier League for Forest.
He was given the responsibility of keeping Mohamed Salah quiet and he was a duty that he fulfilled with relative ease throughout his time on the pitch.
Lawrenson was obviously rooting for Liverpool throughout the clash but he doesn’t believe he’s ever seen a performance as good as Moreno’s at Anfield!
He told the OTB Football+ podcast: “I’ve never seen a better display from a left-back up against Mohamed Salah in all the years I’ve been watching him play for Liverpool.
“The left-back for Forest, wow, he was top, top drawer. He was quick, strong and he could play and they got it right.”
Moreno could star for Forest during the current campaign
At 31-years-old, Moreno brings some balance to the starting eleven and it’s hard to imagine him losing his place in the team after this masterclass against one of the best wide forwards in world football.
Moreno was a target for Forest in 2022 shortly after the team had won promotion. However, he chose to stay with Real Betis and won a move to Aston Villa just a few months after the interest from the City Ground.

Nothing against Ola Aina who has been playing at left-back regularly since Espirito Santo came to the club but he’s not left-footed. Shifting him to the right and bringing Moreno to the left-back slot was a natural transition and it worked well for Forest.
Now, the hope will be that Forest can really kick on with Moreno enjoying a run of games in the team, He looks like a very dependable player and it will be fascinating to see just what he can achieve this season.
