Four days on from a famous win over Liverpool and Nottingham Forest fans are still absolutely buzzing.

The Reds won at the home of Liverpool for the first time since 1969 and it’s a moment that Nuno Espirito Santo will never forget.

Forest won the day thanks to a goal from Callum Hudson-Odoi on 72 minutes and the joy was etched all over his face afterwards.

The Reds need to try to park this game now and produce a similar level of performance at Brighton on Sunday.

Forest have made a good start to the 2024/25 campaign, winning twice and drawing twice during their opening four games of the season.

The Liverpool game will live long in the memory and now supporters might be dreaming of a really memorable season on the whole.

Ben Foster predicts where Nottingham Forest might finish in the Premier League

This isn’t the first time that Forest have been praised by Foster, with Espirito Santo getting some praise from the former England goalkeeper earlier this season.

Now, the player-turned-pundit has discussed what the future could hold for Forest after the Liverpool game.

He told the Cycling GK podcast: “It’s tough for them because there are so many good teams in the Premier League.

“Realistically for Forest, if you can go anywhere between, I am going even as high as maybe ninth or tenth to about 14th.

“I think that’s a fantastic season for Forest.”

Forest have to take each game as it comes in the Premier League

Clearly, Espirito Santo has been working tirelessly during the pre-season campaign to inject his ethos into his squad.

The beauty of the recruitment model this summer is that the head coach now has at least two options in every single position across the pitch.

Forest need to make sure they stay grounded – which can be hard after winning at Anfield – and focus on each game that is on the horizon.

Foster is right though. Forest will fancy being in the mix with a clutch of clubs to finish top of the bottom half when the 2024/25 campaign draws to a close.

Ultimately, any talk of a likely finish is premature at this stage with just four games of the season played.

However, the early prognosis is good and perhaps this can finally be the season where Forest avoid a relegation battle and become a comfortable mid-table Premier League club.
