Nottingham Forest fans all make the same valid point after £750k FA fine

Nottingham Forest continue to be in constant communication with the FA, with their latest fine being announced today after a social media post.

Evangelos Marinakis was recently charged for his behaviour against Brighton after Morgan Gibbs-White was given his marching orders.

Nottingham Forest also had Nuno Espirito Santo in trouble after being sent off during the same Brighton game, but he got away without a suspension.

It’s a constant battle on the field, with decisions like the Gibbs-White sending off that cause these types of reactions that get club officials and managers punished for their reaction.

But, there’s never any punishment for the referees who makes the decision, as an independent panel found that Gibbs-White shouldn’t have been given a second yellow.

Now, the latest FA charge is possibly the most frustrating of the lot.

Nottingham Forest hit with £750k fine by the FA

Last season, Nottingham Forest posted a post on X claiming that the VAR ref on the day was a Luton fan.

It read: “Three extremely poor decisions – three penalties not given – which we simply cannot accept.

“We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a Luton fan before the game but they didn’t change him.

“Our patience has been tested multiple times. NFFC will now consider its options.”

At the time, Forest were hit with misconduct charges by the FA.

Now, it’s got 10x worse as they’ve been handed a fine of £750,000.

Nottingham Forest fans react to FA fine over social media post

These Nottingham Forest fans, when speaking on X, are all furious with the fine and made the same valid point in response.

“Yet everything said in that post was true.” @forestfanboy686 said.

@sammy_ameobi wasn’t happy: “The amount is as you say due to the fact what was said was true and hurt them and they didn’t expect anything back.”

@Chrisey96 stated, ” They don’t like the truth? Everything they said in that statement was true.”

@RedDogNF mentioned: “Only hurts if it’s true.”

“Absolute joke. Forest was right to point out how bad and corrupt the referee’s decisions were when we played Everton.”, @YParm said.

@nffcalways1 commented: “Yep totally agree, this is purely because we embarrassed them by exposing that we’d requested they change the official and been proven right, it’s basically an “how dare you” fine, players/coaches can physically abuse officials & get a fraction of this as a fine.”

@HenryisAce said. “How mardy can you get? Just accept #nffc were right and it will all go away…”

@TrentEndAshley mentioned: “He said was pretty much every other Forest fan was thinking or saying that day, well it seems all but you. The unprofessional ones that day were the officials. Marinakis was 100% right to do that and call them out.”
